Good news! I've updated the Podcasts resource page. It was difficult to figure out how to sort and present this information, because there are so many different ways to subscribe/consume podcasts, and there are channels to like for a variety of reasons as well. Some are best for their quality of conversation among fellow ophthalmologists. Some may present cutting-edge technology. Some interview leaders within fields, or authors of new publications. Others focus on presenting the basics for the understanding of a medical student, or from the perspective of a patient. So. Best thing to do is take the plunge and drive right in.
Below is the winner of my unofficial and completely un-authoritative "favorite podcast" award, the EyeTube.net-published Ophthalmology Off the Grid, which I appreciate for its quality of conversation, content focusing on innovation, and values. I've also included a SoundCloud stream of a recent episode, Shaped by Serendipity, wherein host Dr. Gary Wörtz, MD interviews South Africa - to - Dublin, Ireland ophthalmologist Dr. Arthur Cummings about his unique personal and professional path, and what excites him today about the field of ophthalmology.
